Pickerill Creative hooks up with Bellini of South Pasadena.

We recently hooked up with Bellini of South Pasadena, a super cool baby, kids and teen store.  If you have not been by Bellini and have kids, know someone who has kids or were once yourself a kid and want to remember how great life was back then, you should check them out.

My wife Martinique was in the store a few months back and started chatting with the manager Courtney (seen in the picture below.) They display different photogs work in their store and when Martinique showed Courtney our website she exclaimed, "ohh... we're looking for a new photographer for our walls." So we did that and then they asked us if we would do a shoot featuring some of their current products lines for their website, store and catalogues.

Me and Courtney at the shoot:

Antonia & Theron Married. The Vineyards, Simi Valley California.

Antonia and Theron's wedding was beautiful.  The Vineyards in Simi Valley is a great location and I had a great time.

Shooting darker skinned weddings can be challenging.  Remember, black absorbs light while white reflects it.  So, darker skin tones need more light while white dresses reflect light. In this case the groom was in a white tux as well.  The challenge is exposing for the skin tones without blowing out the dress and tuxedo...

This particular case was even more challenging because our groom's skin tones we're much darker than our brides.   At some point you have to just split the difference and use a lot of fill.

This is my favorite shot from the day. I combined strobe with a hot light. f/2.0 - 1/125 - iso1600
